My first online Course

Hi all

I am proud to announce that i have finished my first course in Coursera Site.

This year it was one of my goals.

The course was simple, a course for beginner programmer in python, "Programming for Everybody" of University of Michigan with 10 weeks of study.

I choose it for two reasons :

  • My bad english level
  • My basic knowledge of Python

The curse's instructor was Charles Severance really very nice and competent instructor.

Really understanding of English was not a problem and coursera allows you to slow down to listen the lessons.

I recommend this course to all those who want to learn English and the basics of programming, Python is a great language to learn to program.

Stay tuned.

Year 2015

The end of a year generally is time of balances and this 2014 was a year that i will remember surely for many time.
Many events happened in this year, some good and other no so good, two events over all : the disease of my mother discovered in May and the end of the international interconnection project in Argentina, really it was an hard year.

But to check the fixed objectives for 2014 :

Improve my English Level                                            : So and so (Improve my level with Duolingo actually i am at 14 level)
Improve my Chess Level                                             : Failed (Few games and worse level)
Improve my incomes                                                   : Failed (Too many expenses)
Be a better Christian                                                    : So and so
Learn Android or a mobile languages (QT, jme, ...)         : Failed (just starting in December with libgdx)
Write more posts on this blog                                       : Failed

No objective reached, really a disaster, but I think in  2015, new objectives will be :
  1. Improve my English Level
    • Improve listening comprehension
  2. Improve my Chess Level
    • Actually my scores are :

  3. Improve my incomes
  4. Be a better Christian
  5. Create one or two mobile applications
  6. Write more posts on this blog
  7. Stay Fit
    • Reaming under 80 kilograms
    • More Continuity
  8. Run more than 2014

I hope reach three or four of these objectives during 2015.

Stay tuned.

eLEARNING

Hi all

Today i want speak about education and eLearning websites.
Personally I am using COURSERA, in this site you can find many courses about a lot of arguments from Literature to Engineering.

Actually if you want study, internet offers many possibilities, there are no excuses. Only you have to choose the course and follow it.

During the course selection it's very important put the focus on three questions :

  • Why do i want learn it?
  • What do i know about this matter?
  • What do i expect from a course ?
In other words where i start and where i want arrive. Learn is simply a path from an A point to a B.

Another important factor is "perseverance" if you don't have it never you can terminate a course, you have to spend part of your time to study continuously day by day, week by week.

Use a eLearning site it's different to study in a real classroom and it needs more discipline, concentration and good capability of autonomy, Instead you can organize better your lessons in according of own learning ability.

There are many eLearning sites, for me the best alternatives to COURSERA are :
The last one it's one of the best about computer science and programming languages

Dircmp in Linux

Hi all

For who as me came from unix world, dircmp is a very powerful command.
In Linux, in later versions, there is a form to compare recursively directories using command diff,
in this way :

diff -q -r ./dir1 ./dir2

Using this two options of diff command :

       -q  --brief
              Output only whether files differ.

       -r  --recursive
              Recursively compare any subdirectories found.

The result is similar at dircmp in unix.

Stay tuned.
